REGULATIONS 2026
Organizer:
• The National Student Festival “MediFun” is organized by LSTGM – Târgu Mureș Students’ League (hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer”) with headquarters in Strada Nicolae Grigorescu, numărul 15, 540095, Târgu Mureș, Mureș, România, e-mail: office@lstgm.ro, facebook: www.facebook.com/LigaUMF, site: www.lstgm.ro.
• The festival shall be conducted in accordance with this document, which contains the terms and conditions of participation, binding on all participants. The official regulations are drawn up and made public in accordance with the applicable legislation in Romania.
Event location:
• The festival is organized and takes place on the territory of Romania. All necessary information will be transmitted on www.medifun.ro, www.facebook.com/medifun.ro and www.instagram.com/medifun.ro
Festival period::
• The “MediFun” Student Festival takes place over 4 days, from 30 September 2026 to 4 October 2026, inclusive.
Right to participate:
• Any individual who is at least 18 years old by 30 September 2026 may participate in this competition, regardless of whether they are a student, and participation is open to everyone regardless of sex, nationality, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or social status.
• By exception, members of the organizing team, persons registered as volunteers for this edition, and persons who purchase passes or evening tickets intended for external persons, which grant access to the evening social activities, may NOT participate in the competition.
• Participation in the event includes full acceptance of these regulations.
• Violation of these rules may have legal consequences for the Participant..
How to enter the contest:
• The Organizer considers registration for the competition to constitute implicit acceptance of these regulations and considers all participant information provided to be true and accurate.
• To take part in the festival, participants must be registered as members of a team.
• Teams must have a minimum of 30 participants. The maximum number of participants per team is 40. (Of the total number of persons registered in a team, at least 10 members must be female and at least 10 members must be male.)
• All members of a team are considered active members and are entitled to participate in the tests and challenges within the competition.
• Team members are entitled to participate in the evening social activities.
• Team registration is done by the captain via the website www.medifun.ro, where they must fill out a form that will contain the captain’s name, captain’s phone number, captain’s email, and team name.The captain will be contacted at the email address provided in the form and will receive all the details necessary to complete the team registration.
• The team captain is responsible for collecting the participation fee from all team members.
• The captain is responsible for registering the team members and is required to provide the organizers with the correct names of all team members.
• The team shall be considered registered once the participation fee for at least 30 participants has been paid.
• The deadline for team registration, including payment of the fee for at least 30 participants, is 20 September, at 22:00.
• The deadline for paying the fee for all team participants is 26 September, at 18:00.
• The deadline for registering freshman teams, including payment of the fee for at least 40 participants, is 26 September, at 18:00.
• Freshman teams are considered newly established teams whose composition is at least 80% freshmen (first-year students at one of the universities in Târgu Mureș).
• The deadline for the captain to submit the final list of participants to the organizers is 26 September, at 18:00.
• By registering for the competition, participants guarantee that they are at least 18 years old and can subsequently prove this with official documents.
• A participant may be disqualified at any time if the Organizer identifies any behavior considered inconsistent with this document, and the Organizer shall have the right to withdraw the participant’s right to take part in the event.
• If any discrepancies regarding the above are discovered, the Organizer shall not consider the respective participation valid.
Taxes:
• The participation fee for team members is RON 220/team member. This fee entitles the participant to take part in the competition with their team and in all Festival events.
• The MedifunProMax participation fee for team members is RON 260/team member. This fee entitles the participant to take part in the competition with their team, all Festival events, priority access to the festival and a welcome kit.
• The registration fee may be paid online by the team captain to the LSTGM account: RO18 BTRL 0270 1205 P493 7700, or in cash at the League’s headquarters according to a schedule that will be communicated to the team captains.
• The captain is responsible for submitting to the organizers a table containing the details of the team members for whom payment has been made.
• The team captain is responsible for the accuracy of the contact details of all team participants.
• Once the participation fee for registration has been paid, it is non-refundable.
• If a participant whose fee has been paid can no longer participate, the captain may transfer their place to another participant by notifying the main organizers in advance.
• Replacement may be made no later than 26 September, at 18:00.
• In the case of persons who cancel their active membership after 26 September, membership is non-transferable.
• Access to the festival area shall also be permitted to persons who do not participate in the competition, referred to in these regulations as “external persons”.
• The price of a pass intended for external persons, which includes access only to the festival area but does NOT allow participation in the competition, varies depending on the purchase period and can be found on the festival’s official website.
• The price of a day ticket intended for external persons, which includes access only to the festival area but does NOT allow participation in the competition, varies depending on the purchase period and can be found on the festival’s official website.
• Purchasing a MedifunProMax package intended for external persons (MedifunProMax Pass/MedifunProMax Ticket) includes access only to the festival area, priority access to the festival and a welcome kit, but does NOT allow participation in the competition. The price varies depending on the purchase period and can be found on the festival’s official website.
• For any of the passes mentioned above (team member/general access – intended for external persons), an upgrade to the MedifunProMax pass is available upon payment of the fee displayed on the website.
Registration period:
• The competition registration period is August 28, 2026 – September 20, 2026, with the exception of teams made up of freshmen as specified in point 5..
Team Requirements:
• Each team must have a name, a flag, a special live performance (musical-style) based on the team anthem, a team presentation video (according to the theme defined by the organizers for the current edition), an aftermovie documenting the team’s journey throughout the festival – according to specifications provided at least 2 weeks before the start of the event – and shirts in a specific color, different from those of the organizers or other teams.
• Each team member must wear the team shirt or hoodie throughout the event.
• These regulations shall use the term “team shirt” to also refer to hoodies.
• The color of the organizers’ shirts is Smoke.
• The team shirt color is selected upon team registration and confirmed after payment of the fee for at least 30 team members.
• The Organizer is not responsible for reserving colors used by teams in previous editions. However, respecting tradition and avoiding color conflicts will be taken into consideration in the overall fair-play score.
• Each team must have a unique name that is not similar to the name of another team.
• The organizers reserve the right to refuse team registration if:
a team has previously registered with a name that is similar, identical or refers to another team registered in the competition.
the team name is offensive to any other team, entity, person, race, nationality, ethnicity, minority, sexual orientation, religion or social status.
promotes a political party or politician.
promotes a commercial brand that is not related to the eventTeams may seek sponsorships for their shirts only if they inform the organizers in advance about the potential sponsor and only if the organizers approve.
• Teams may print a sponsor’s name on the team shirt only if the Organizer has approved the sponsorship and only on the back of the shirt.
• Teams are entitled to participate in events exclusively with their own members. Exceptionally, during sports events, with the agreement of all teams, a team may use members provided by other teams, provided that at least half of the members participating in the event are from their own team.
• The organizers assume no responsibility for violations of the applicable laws and regulations by participants during the event.
Team Management:
• Each team must have one captain and two vice-captains.
• The team captain and vice-captains are appointed autonomously and independently by the members of their team.
• The team captain is the main point of contact with the main organizers and represents the team.
• In the event of force majeure or at the captain’s decision, one of the two vice-captains shall be designated as the point of contact with the main organizers.
• The team captain and vice-captains must provide the organizers with a valid and working telephone number at which they can be contacted at any time before and during the event.
• The team captain shall attend meetings held before and during the event; in the event of force majeure, one of the vice-captains shall attend these meetings.
• Only the main event organizers may convene a meeting with the team captains.
• The captain and vice-captains are directly responsible for the behavior of their team members.
10.Conduct of the event:
• The event takes place over 4 days (30 September 2026 – 4 October 2026). Teams registered for the competition will take part in several types of events: sports, special and surprise events. These are designed and communicated only by the event organizers responsible for the competition events.
• Each team must create a team presentation video. Instructions regarding the video’s theme, content, dimensions and scoring method will be sent to the captains at least 2 weeks before the start of Medifun.
• Teams will receive a list of required items at least 2 weeks before the start of Medifun. These items must be on them from the start of the event until they are used in a test..
• All events are mandatory for all teams. Teams are required to participate in all events with the number of members required for the respective event.
• Failure to participate in a trial results in a strike for the team. Five strikes per team result in the team’s disqualification from the competition.
• No event will begin until the Organizer has ensured that all teams involved in the competition have been informed of its existence and rules. If a team has been notified but does not appear at the announced start time, the organizers may begin the event 5 minutes after that time, and the team shall be considered a non-participant and receive one strike.
• At least 15 team members must be present throughout the competition. The 15 members may be different and may rotate.
• If a team does not have the required 15 members, the team will receive one strike.
• Surprise events will not be known to participants until they are announced. They may be announced at any time between 30 September 2026 (17:00) and 3 October 2026 (18:00).
• Surprise events may be communicated directly to participants, by telephone, email or message (SMS or WhatsApp), using the telephone numbers of the team captain and vice-captains. Teams must ensure that at least one of these numbers can be reached at all times throughout the event.
• Special events include: “Black List”, the live performance (musical-style) based on the team anthem, the presentation videos and the aftermovie-style video that must be created throughout the competition.
• Sports events, as well as their schedule and rules, will be announced at least 2 weeks before the start of the event.
• Failure of a team to show up at the start of a sporting event, with a delay of more than 5 minutes, entails the loss of the match, unless the team that is present agrees to the increase in the waiting time. Notifying the organizers of a possible delay, at least half an hour before the time set in the program, if this delay will not exceed 15 minutes – allows the possibility of continuing to participate in the event.
• Participation in competition events is permitted exclusively to registered team members who appear on the official team list submitted by the captain to the organizers and who wear the participant wristband.
• Participation in competition events by external persons who are not included on the official team list submitted by the captain to the organizers is strictly prohibited.
• The captain and vice-captains are solely responsible for the persons participating in the competition. If the organizer discovers external members participating in the competition, the team will receive one strike.
• Events that may cause reputational harm to competitors or endanger their lives are prohibited.
• Within the Grey List, the organizers may refuse challenges of a sexual nature, challenges that may cause reputational harm to the organizers, or challenges that may endanger their lives.
11.Schedule and Venues
• The event schedule will be presented to participants in a day-by-day structure before the competition begins and may be subject to changes. Such changes will be communicated to participants and will take effect only after the organizers have ensured that all participating teams have been informed.
• The detailed schedule and event venues will be available on the event website at least 2 weeks before the start of the event.
• Events have a predetermined order and start time, which all teams must observe.
• All participating teams are entitled to receive all information concerning the event schedule, game locations and the various routes related to the event.
12.Access
• Each competition participant who has paid the participation fee will receive a member wristband.
• Wristbands for team members participating in the competition may be collected starting 27 September, according to the collection schedule announced by the organizers.
• Member wristbands allow participation in surprise, sports and special events, as well as evening social activities.
• Wristbands intended for external persons allow access only to evening social activities and do not grant the holder the right to participate in surprise, sports or special events.
• Member and external-person wristbands are non-transferable. Any attempt to transfer a wristband will automatically result in its cancellation, and the holder will no longer be allowed access to Medifun activities.
• Participation in games and parties requires the wristband to be worn at all times. At the organizers’ request, team members must prove their participant status (by presenting the wristband).
• Presentation of an identity card when collecting the wristband is mandatory.
• Wristbands intended for external persons may be collected each evening starting at the beginning of the evening social activities, upon presentation of a valid ticket or pass and an identity card.
• Entry to the evening social activities is open to everyone with an access wristband; however, the organizers reserve the right to select participants for the evening social activities.
• The number of member access wristbands will correspond to the number of participants registered in each team.
• If the bracelet becomes damaged, it will be presented to the organizers for replacement.
• Lost wristbands may only be replaced upon payment of the applicable registration, pass or day-ticket fee.
• Certain areas of the evening social activities (e.g. backstage, etc.) are only accessible to organizers wearing the authorized BADGE!
• Each captain will receive a personalized BADGE that will allow access to the special captains’ area, to store flags, supplies, decorations or to participate in captains’ meetings.
• Access to the evening social activities area is prohibited with the following items:
-Alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages
-Food
-Knives, weapons or sharp objects
-Vuvuzelas
-Aerosol products/Aerosol cans (deodorant, mosquito spray, sunscreen)
-Perfumes
-Air horns
-Bicycles, roller skates, scooters or skateboards
-Chairs or refrigerators
-Chains or chain wallets
-Drugs or drug paraphernalia
-Fireworks, explosives or incendiary rockets
-Guns, Ammunition or laser
-Laser pointers
-Bottles
-Pepper spray
-Pets or other animals
-Toy guns, water guns or slingshots
-Flagpoles or similar objects/other objects used for this purpose.
• The following items are permitted in the evening social activities area:
Flags without poles.
-Backpacks (medium-sized, A4 dimensions)
-Photo and video cameras
-Lipstick și and lip balm
– Cigarettes and lighters
Heated tobacco smoking devices
Eye drops
Fanny packs and waist bags
Hand sanitizer and baby wipes
-Hats
-Mobile phones and chargers
-Power Banks
-Purses and handbags
-Blankets and small towels
Sunscreen, deodorant and mosquito repellent (non-aerosol only)
-Sunglasses
-Over-the-counter medication
Special items included on the team’s required-items list
Items that may be requested by organizers for certain surprise challenges
13.Scoring system
• Teams may earn points by completing the events, according to the rules applicable to each event (as communicated by the organizer responsible before the event).
• Teams may be awarded points at the end of the event based on criteria established and communicated in advance, together with the scoring method.
• The final result will be announced during the Awards Ceremony held on the last evening of the event. The Organizer is responsible for the transparent and accurate management of points earned.
• The top 3 teams based on the points accumulated throughout the Festival and the final ranking will be declared winners.
• The scoring method will be presented to the captains at least 2 weeks before the start of the competition and will be annexed to these regulations.
14.Sports
• The sports to be played at Medifun 2026 are:
Men’s Football (5 players and 1 goalkeeper)
Basketball (5 players, 2 female, 3 male)
Volleyball (6 players, 4 female, 2 male)
Mixed Table Tennis (1 male and 1 female)
Climbing (1 male and 1 female)
Backgammon (1 person, regardless of gender)
Padel (1 male and 1 female)
Detailed regulations for each sport and scoring method will be announced at least 2 weeks before the start of the event.
15.Sanctions
• If a member fails to fulfill their obligations, does not follow the organizers’ instructions, behaves aggressively or in a manner socially, morally or legally unacceptable, or makes offensive comments, the organizers may refuse that person’s participation in the event or remove them from the venue (by cutting the wristband), without refunding the participation fee.
• Captains may ask the organizers to remove a team member if they consider that the member behaves aggressively or in a manner socially or legally unacceptable, or makes offensive comments.
• Attendance at the activities scheduled by the organizers is mandatory; failure to attend five events will result in the team’s disqualification.
• If a team accumulates five strikes, it will be disqualified from the competition.
• Permitted delays: 5 minutes for events, 5 minutes for sports schedules. In case of a delay due to circumstances beyond the team’s control, the participant must inform the organizer in advance. In this case, the delay will not result in forfeiture of the event.
• Failure to appear with the required number of members for Medifun events is considered a lost event and automatically results in one strike for the team.
• Stealing or damaging another team’s flag or any other property belonging to another team is strictly prohibited and may result in the team’s disqualification.
• Any kind of theft is completely and absolutely prohibited during Medifun. A participant proven guilty of such acts will be sanctioned by exclusion from the festival through the cutting of their wristband.
• If several members of a team become violent or behave violently or aggressively, the organizers have the right to eliminate that team from the competition even if it has not accumulated five strikes.
• Taking a team’s/participant’s belongings for the purpose of returning them or negotiating their return is not permitted. In case of violation, the organizing team may impose the following sanctions:
a) the entire team may not participate in events for 24 hours
b) application of a -5% penalty to the team’s final score
c) Exclusion of participants by cutting off the bracelets of the members responsible for committing the aforementioned acts
• Verbal and physical conflicts and both physical and online bullying are not permitted. In case of violation, the organizing team may impose the following sanctions:
a) non-participation in trials for 24 hours by the entire team
b) application of a -5% penalty to the team’s final score
c) Exclusion of participants by cutting off the bracelets of the members responsible for committing the aforementioned acts
• The integrity of materials and intellectual property located at the various Medifun venues must be preserved. In case of damage, compensation shall be borne by the offender or, if the responsible person cannot be identified, by the entire team to which they belong.
• Bringing beverages/food of any kind into the area where evening social activities take place is not permitted; the organizers have the right to confiscate them.
• The consumption, possession and distribution of illegal drugs during the event, regardless of the venue, are strictly prohibited and may result in disqualification and criminal prosecution!
• • If the team’s t-shirts contain texts or images that are offensive to any other team, entity or person or promote a political party or political candidate, or a commercial brand (without the organizers’ consent), the organizer has the right to refuse the entire team’s participation in the competition by cutting off the bracelet, without refunding the participation fee.
• If a team flag contains text or images that are offensive to another team, entity or person, or promote a political party or political candidate, or a commercial brand, the Organizer has the right to confiscate the flag without returning it.
16.Personal Data Protection:
• The Organizer does not aim to collect and use personal data within this festival.
• By participating in this contest, each Participant expressly and unequivocally agrees to:
✓ The collection and processing by the Organizer of information regarding the personal Facebook account, the e-mail address that the candidates use to validate their registration in the contest, as well as the data provided for this purpose. The winners also agree to provide data, but not limited to: name/surname, age, occupation, telephone number, e-mail address, city of origin, etc. and to transmit them to the Organizer for the purpose of awarding the prizes established by these Regulations;
✓ Storing this data and processing it for purposes other than those mentioned above, namely: advertising, marketing and publicity.
• The Organizer will keep the Winners’ personal data confidential and will use them only for the purposes established by the Regulations.
• Participants have the right to refuse, at any time, free of charge and without any justification, that the data they have provided in connection with their participation in the event be processed for direct marketing purposes or be disclosed to third parties for such purposes. Participants have the right to object to the processing of personal data at any time, for justified reasons related to their personal situation.
• By participating in Medifun, all participants automatically accept the terms and conditions of the MediFun event and agree that the event organizers or any third parties affiliated with or authorized by them may make, during the event, any kind of audio/video materials and any kind of images, captures or photographic materials, and the rights to all such materials belong to the event organizers. At the same time, by signing this document and agreeing to the terms and conditions of the MediFun event, you agree that the organizers may use your image in the materials listed above or in any other communication materials, for an unlimited period of time, including by transmitting, distributing, publishing, multiplying in any form and by any methods, in the online and offline space, all these materials depicting your image in the context of the MediFun event, including by publishing them in the written press, broadcasting them in mass media networks and publishing them on the Internet, on social media sites Facebook, Instagram, etc.
• Participants have, in accordance with Law no. 129/2018 for the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data (with subsequent amendments and completions), the right to information, the right to access data, the right to object, the right to intervene in data, the right not to be subject to an individual decision, as well as the right to seek justice.
17.Disputes:
• Any disputes arising between the Organizer and the participants in the contest will be resolved amicably.
• The Organizer reserves the right to select and/or refuse participants.
• The Organizer will not assume any liability regarding the claims of third parties or institutions regarding the prizes won by the participants.
• The Organizer assumes no liability regarding the non-functioning of mobile phone networks or Internet networks.
• The Organizer assumes no liability in the event that false or erroneous information is communicated to it by the participants.
• The Organizer is not liable for any malfunctions in the conduct of the contest as a result of the actions of third parties such as: electricity distributors, operators, legal authorities, owners or administrators of telecommunications networks or others like that.
• The Organizer is not liable in any way for the content generated and for the statements and behavior of the participants registered in this contest, or for the consequences arising from these actions..
18.Event regulations:
• The event regulations are available on the website www.medifun.ro
• Participation in this event implies irrevocable and unconditional acceptance of the provisions of these Regulations and the obligation to comply with them.
• The Organizer reserves the right to modify the provisions of these Regulations at any time to the extent that this is necessary, provided that the modifications are announced on the website www.medifun.ro. The modifications/modified form of the Regulations enter into force only after online publication.
• The festival regulations are drawn up in accordance with the laws of Romania.
• In case of non-compliance with any of the rules of these Regulations, the Organizers will suspend the team’s right to participate in any event, until the team complies with the regulations.
• The Organizer assumes no liability for injuries occurring during the competition or during the evening social activities.
• The organizer does not assume responsibility for committing illegal acts such as acts of violence, theft, instigation, consumption of substances prohibited by law, driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances, both during the competition and during the evening social activities. The organizer will collaborate with the competent institutions and will provide all the necessary data to sanction those who commit illegal acts, according to the law.
